Considering a Hall Tree With Storage Bench?
Before you make your purchase, let me divulge to you a few facts. First of all, never buy a
hall tree with storage bench before you've first considered buying a regular hall tree or even just a hall tree bench that isn't for storage. The reason I say this is that there are many
more regular hall trees that look better and complement a room more than what you'll find in a storage bench
capacity. The hall trees that come with storage benches cost a lot more as well, which is understandable given the
fact that they have a storage bench, but the price factor is higher than you think. Even the lower priced hall tree
benches usually look better than a good portion of the storage ones, and they offer higher quality material at
lower prices.
I made the mistake of purchasing a hall tree with storage bench against my better judgment. My way of thinking,
though, was that I needed space for storing some of my things and I didn't want to pay a monthly fee to any company
to store things elsewhere. My attic and garage were full as well. I could not find a hall tree that had a storage
bench and also complemented my room favorably. All the same, I went ahead and bought the item that I knew I didn't
truly want and there it sits, making my room look the worse for it. Granted, I can change the room around or
otherwise alter the scheme of the decor so that the bench is complemented better but the fact of the matter is that
the bench itself looks poorly. I will admit, however, that I am a bit biased against it.
I'm not saying that every hall tree with storage bench is either ugly or doesn't match anything. As I've
mentioned earlier, you can find storage bench hall trees of vastly differing appearances. The problem, I think, is
the fact that you know it is a storage bench. Maybe my breeding is a bit too snobby but I hate the idea of housing
a bunch of junk in something that is supposed to be an attractive furnishing that should, in a perfect world, tie
the room together. Hall trees are noted for their beauty and are meant to be complementary to a dwelling. Turning
them into glorified storage containers or toy boxes ultimately robs them of their true purpose, I suppose. Either
way, if you can find a hall tree that has a storage bench and it isn't repulsive and it can actually tie your room
together, by all means purchase it. Just don't make the mistake that I made. Every day I look at that eyesore and I
regret the day I let my impatience get the better of me.
